Siemens Gamesa selects UL to offer type characteristics certification and grid code compliance for the 5.X platform

UL has been granted certification contracts for Siemens Gamesa’s most advanced turbine designs.

In countries like as Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom, UL has been chosen to offer type characteristics certification and grid code compliance certification for the new 5.X onshore platform.

“Confirming that new turbine technologies can sustain the power grid while maximizing energy production is important to advancing the growth of wind farms and Europe’s green energy transition,” said Kai Grigutsch, UL’s director of wind certification.

“We’re excited to work with Siemens Gamesa to assist accelerate the deployment of safe and dependable wind energy.”

“We needed a trustworthy strategic supplier that could assist us effectively certify our newest turbine design platform for international deployment and support our customers,” said Irene Alli Onos, Siemens Gamesa’s head of 5.X certification.
